It is interesting how we now exist in a very fast-paced environment but with advancement in technology, one can access opportunities locally and internationally. I am always happy when my former students reach out to me to provide them with academic references for graduate programmes, scholarships, fellowships and other awards and I feel most excited when they call to announce that they have got them. Although, sometimes I get overwhelmed reviewing motivation letters and essays, perhaps because of the volume of such essays from different scholars and my core responsibilities, but their success is my joy.
